Dear friends and colleagues,
it is a great pleasure to announce that the XVI SIICA National Congress will take place on June 16–
19, 2026 in Brescia, a vibrant city, rich in history and culture, and ideally located in the heart of
Lombardy.
We aim to gather in this venue leading experts, researchers, and clinicians in immunology for a
four-day congress that will feature an outstanding scientific program covering a broad spectrum of
immunology topics, ranging from allergy and autoimmunity to tumor immunology and
immunotherapy, with special attention to vaccines and translational immunology. We will explore
cutting-edge areas such as big data, omics and artificial intelligence, as well as fundamental
aspects like cell signaling, cytokines and other soluble mediators, dendritic cells, mast cells and
granulocytes, monocytes and macrophages, NK cells and ILC, and T and B lymphocytes. Topics will
also include host-pathogen interactions, mucosal immunology and the microbiota,
immunogenetics, immunodeficiencies, metabolism, and epigenetics, along with discussions on
clinical trials and other emerging fields. This comprehensive approach ensures that every
participant will find sessions of interest and opportunities for fruitful exchange.
As in previous editions, the meeting includes Keynote Lectures, Topic Symposia, Joint Symposia (in
collaboration with other scientific societies), Sponsored Symposia, Company Roundtables, and
Workshops. The SIICA Board and Junior Faculty will also present their initiatives in dedicated
sessions. As by our traditional focus on young scientists, the program will include selected oral
presentations in Workshops and Symposia and two Poster Sessions in prime time will allow them
ample discussion opportunities. Plus, if you are a young SIICA members, don’t miss the
opportunity to apply for one of the numerous travel grants and traditional prizes that will be
awarded!
We have identified a location that guarantees that everything will be within easy reach, ensuring a
perfect balance between science and social interaction. In particular, we will provide ample space
for interaction between academia and industry, ensuring that sponsors play a central role in
shaping the dialogue. Though scientific intense, we have featured a program with a well balanced
the daily schedule, leaving time to enjoy Brescia’s historical charm and foster social interactions—
the perfect recipe for a memorable meeting.
We look forward to welcoming you in Brescia next June for four days of outstanding science and
networking!
Sincerely,
Massimo Locati
SIICA President
